Spend a day in nature and go birdwatching with our flamingos bike tour. In the wetland area of Pialassa della Baiona, set in the seaside resort of Marina Romea north of Ravenna, you can have the opportunity to observe flamingos, which are now resident in this area.

What to expect?

This bike tour takes you inside the Pialassa Baiona oasis in the company of a nature guide. The Pialassa is a very interesting area for birdwatching, extending over about 1100 hectares, home to many species of birds such as the red, grey and white heron, as well as flamingos.

During the tour you also have the chance to go on a boat trip, which allows you to admire the landscape from a different perspective. The Pialassa Baiona is actually a flooded prairie of brackish water, an ideal habitat for many plant and animal species, dotted with fishing huts called padelloni or bilancioni.

Before heading back to Ravenna onto the cycle path, you can restore your energy by eating a delicious piadina in the lovely village of Marina Romea.

Road base: 10% on tarmac and 90% on gravel and bike paths.
